Located west of Sanford, Mousam Lake is a popular destination for many outdoor enthusiasts. This popular water body receives an abundance of use throughout all seasons and on many warm summer weekends, traffic and congestion can be an issue. At just 900 acres, its narrow width and highly irregular bottom contours make Mousam Lake a very unique water body. There are five different basins and many coves along its gravel shores. These irregularities provide an abundance and variety of niches for all of the fish species that inhabit Mousam Lake.
