Located in the lakes region of southern Maine, Long Lake is
a popular destination for angling and recreational boating. At 4,867 acres, the
second largest lake in southern Maine supports a wide range of boating
activities. Numerous marinas, gift shops, and restaurants dot the highly
developed shoreline. Access to Long Lake is provided at public boat launch
facilities located near the mouth of Stevens Brook in Bridgton and at the north
end of the lake in the Village of Harrison. Additional access is provided via
private marinas, camping areas, and from Sebago Lake through the Songo Locks
and Brandy Pond. A small fee is charged to pass through the historic yet fully
operational Songo Locks. The entire Long Lake, Brandy Pond, and Sebago Lake
waterway is well marked with navigational buoys by the Maine Department of
Conservation.
