Baku, Azerbaijan These extreme hunts each start with tours of fascinating Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan with over 2,000,000 people. Baku is famous for its access to oil, its seaport on the Caspian Sea, and its Old City and unbridled new development. It has been known as the “Paris of the Caucasus” and the “Gates to the Ancient East.” Lad Shunneson’s Hunt Lad Shunneson hunts southwest of Guba, on the north side of the Caucasus Mountains. His hunt was arranged by Bob Kern and his guide is Mirbala Manafov. Lad is accompanied by fellow hunters Billie Ritchey and Bobby Moon. Utilizing driven hunts after steep climbs, they all succeed in taking good Eastern Tur. Ken Wilson’s Hunt Then Ken Wilson accesses the Caucasus from the south, and hunts north of Sheki along the Russian border. His hunt was arranged by Mirbala Manafov. Via spot and stalk with his guides Tural, Taleh, and Adil, Ken shoots a good Tur with a long shot after waiting for it to stop moving along the face of a thousand foot cliff.
